Court Marriage
Court marriage is an official wedlock between spouses solemnized in front of a Magistrate or Nikah Registrar. This facility is provided under the Muslim Family Law Ordinance of 1961, offering legal protection to the marrying couple.
Procedure
In Pakistan, the court marriage process is simple and straightforward. The following steps outline the procedure:
- Both parties must be at least 18 years of age.
- Both must provide free consent to the marriage.
- Required documents include CNIC, Form-B, or Passport.
- Two witnesses are required (witnesses can be provided by our law firm upon request).
- Four passport-size photographs of both the bride and groom.
- An affidavit from the bride confirming her free consent.
- A valid divorce or death certificate if the bride is remarrying.
- A valid permission certificate from the groom if it is a second marriage.
We also provide a valid Nikah Nama after the marriage is executed, along with Nikah translation services in required languages for immigration purposes. The court marriage certificate will be provided as valid proof of marriage.
